James Minehart served as the Director of Advancement Services at Lewis & Clark College for four years where he had oversight responsibility for the performance and maintenance of the College’s alumni/development database and advancement systems. In his role he provided strategic leadership, and long-range short-term planning for the areas of gift processing, database integrity, prospect management, reporting, data analysis, and system enhancements.
A graduate of the American Musical and Dramatic Academy, an acting and musical theatre school, James began his advancement career as a phonathon caller. Before joining Lewis & Clark, he served as the Donor Management Specialist with the YWCA of Greater Portland and the Database Manager at the Manhattan Theatre Club. He has been working in the non-profit sector since 1997.
James serves as a faculty member for various Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) conferences, including leading sessions on action planning, creating request tracking systems, developing policies and procedures, and following IRS regulations. He has also served on the Willamette Valley Development Officers board of directors since 2006.
