JCA approaches data conversions as opportunities for their clients to improve the quality and structure of their data. We recognize that each organization is unique in its needs and business practices. JCA takes the time to understand an institution’s requirements, workflow and expectations before beginning the process of conversion. We employ a "programmatic" approach to converting data, which allows us to make changes throughout the process without adding to the cost. We have built our process around the expectation that the data mapping will change as the client learns more about the new software.

An engagement usually begins with a consultation discussion either in person or via telephone. In dialogue with the client, JCA analyzes the usage and meaning of each field in the legacy database. Further, our consultants will review each value within the field to determine current usage and the proper destination of the specific code in the new database. This process of continued dialogue ensures that obsolete codes and redundancies will not migrate to the new database. This service is not included as part of the vendor’s standard import/export utilities, and can save countless hours of time and money.
