Steven Beshuk, PMP, Director, Consulting Services

Mr. Beshuk began his career in the not-for-profit sector in 1991 with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.  Since then, he has worked in every facet of development from special events to planned and major gifts.  Previous to joining JCA in 2000, he worked as the Planned/Major Gifts Officer at the American Red Cross of Greater Columbus.  He was also the Director in charge of direct marketing and the organization's fundraising software including Blackbaud's The Raiser Edge®.  In his tenure at the Red Cross, he managed two large database implementations, and created and maintained Red Cross's coding structure and operating procedures.  In his years at JCA, Mr. Beshuk has managed myriad projects from small data conversions to large scale fundraising software selection and implementation.  His extensive nonprofit experience gives him comprehensive knowledge of the end-user's needs. 

As a demonstration of JCA’s commitment to excellence, Mr. Beshuk has recently become a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).  The PMP certification involves a rigorous, examination-based process that represents the highest caliber in professional standards.  The Project Management Institute’s professional certification is universally accepted and recognized.

Large Religious Institution This organization's information management systems had grown over time to include numerous disconnected databases on outdated technology.  Recognizing its need to serve its constituents in both a professional and efficient manner, the church retained the services of JCA to perform an organization-wide needs analysis, oversee a formal request for proposal, fundraising and membership software evaluation and selection, and software implementation and integration.  The project included comprehensive project management, business process improvement, data conversion, systems integration to both planned giving and church accounting software, Crystal Report writing, fundraising and membership software training, and custom software development.  Throughout the project, Mr. Beshuk worked with every level of leadership in the organization and the software vendor to ensure that the comprehensive needs of the church were met.
Zonta International Zonta International is a global membership association with 33,000 members in 67 countries.  Understanding the need to improve its communication to both its members and volunteer leaders across the world, Zonta hired JCA to perform a needs analysis and manage the request for proposal process to select an online constituent relationship management solution that integrated with existing back-office systems.  JCA guided Zonta through the selection process and also managed the implementation of the CRM solution ensuring that their detailed requirements were met.  The project included a formal RFP, vendor demonstration scripts, a software evaluation report including due diligence, and contract negotiation support.
Hadassah Mr. Beshuk performed a full review of Hadassah's membership practices and made business process reengineering recommendations.  Deliverables included a complete system analysis report with specific recommendations, a formal presentation to senior staff, and a work breakdown structure complete with timelines and the Hadassah personnel responsible for achieving the tasks.
Free Methodist Foundation FMF was using Blackbaud's The Raiser's Edge® to manage both its outright and planned gifts.  Given the sophisticated nature of FMF's planned giving program, tracking the numerous details of the planned giving program became cumbersome and the integrity of the data was poor.  JCA was selected to perform a fundraising software systems audit and to make recommendations and implement the solution.  Final recommendations included data conversion of a portion of its Raiser's Edge® to PG Calc's GiftWrap, Raiser's Edge® database cleanup, creation of a custom archive database, custom Crystal Report writing, and a Raiser's Edge® - GiftWrap integration.
