Donna Caputo, Director, Consulting Services

 

Ms. Caputo graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre. She successfully completed the "Certificate in Computer Science (CCS)" program at Hofstra University.   The core curriculum included High-Level Language Programming, Database Concepts and SQL Programming.   Ms. Caputo's specialties include system implementation, data conversion design and the development of custom solutions to address integration and automation challenges.

Ms. Caputo joined JCA in 1996 after spending five years working in the non-profit healthcare field, including two years at the Mount Sinai Medical Center as the Manager of Database and Gift Processing.  Since joining JCA, she has gained extensive experience working with healthcare, educational, faith-based and membership organizations, utilizing many fundraising software applications including Blackbaud'sâ flagship product, The Raiser's Edgeâ.  Donna has a special ability of seeing past current processes toward more efficient procedures, recommending and then managing those changes for her clients with rewarding results.   Her many projects have included customizations such as automated acknowledgment modules, interfaces between fundraising, point of sale and accounting systems, and automated data transfers between ticketing and membership systems as well as student and fundraising systems.

University of Alaska

Managed and programmed conversion of 6 separate databases into Raiser’s Edgeâ version 7, including the consolidation of conflicting coding structures and the merging of duplicate records.    Performed on-site training for Raiser’s Edgeâ and Crystal Reports.

Southern Nazarene University

Project Manager for conversion of Development and Alumni records from University CMDS system to Raiser’s Edgeâ version 7.    Devised custom applications for GL interface, address and phone number exchange, and new graduate downloads into Raiser’s Edgeâ.  Developed Policies & Procedures documentation.  Provided Crystal Reports and MS Access training.

The Cleveland Museum of Art

Coordinated systems analysis, RFP, vendor demo and selection process for fundraising software.  Project Manager for Enterprise (Access International) conversion and implementation.  Restructured entire coding system during conversion of Development/Membership system.  Developed custom application to handle automatic production of acknowledgments and membership renewals.  Designed custom Crystal Reports to assist with membership management and campaign analysis.

Large Religious Organization

Functioned as the Technical lead for a system implementation and database conversion that consolidated or replaced 8 databases.  Designed custom application to load gifts processed through optical reader system as well as online transactions (memberships and donations).  Created automated acknowledgment application that assigns letter codes, creates all letters and corresponding envelopes, prints reconciliation reports and updates database.

Various Clients Raiser’s Edgeâ database cleanups.    These projects include database analysis of current records, coding structure and required reports, and in-place conversion of records to a newly created coding schema.  Cleanups have also included programmatic merge/purge of duplicated records.
