GLSEN is the leading national organization fighting to end anti-gay bias in K-12 schools.  GLSEN strives to assure that each member of every school community is valued and respected regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity/expression.

GLSEN needed to upgrade their database from a FoxPro based system to one that was more modern. JCA put together a Request for Proposal (RFP). GLSEN was looking for software that could support its requirements related to constituent management.  GLSEN decided on Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge for Windows 7.0®. As there were inherent problems related to the usage of data and codes in the existing system, GLSEN engaged JCA to execute the data conversion to Raiser’s Edge®. With JCA, GLSEN was able to construct the data in a way that made sense to the GLSEN staff.

The JCA team met with GLSEN and identified the problems they had with their existing system. JCA then gave recommendations to map the data in a logical way. JCA provided training before the conversion, in order to familiarize the staff with the system, so informed decisions could be made regarding the data mapping.  JCA provided assistance in setting up the Raiser’s Edge® server and all Client workstations.  To complement the implementation of Raiser's Edge®, JCA served as trainers for the GLSEN staff.  Raiser's Edge® training included customized instruction tailored to GLSEN’s operational procedures. JCA also worked with the software vendor to create an automated system of importing information sent from a mail house directly into the database.

In addition, JCA was contracted to create a policy and procedures manual that would serve as the starting point to a living document, constantly updated as the staff develops new methods and processes for the organization.
