Al-Anon Family Group of Virginia helps family and friends of alcoholics deal with the negative affects of alcoholism.  Facing a large move from New York to Virginia, Al-Anon decided to upgrade their network, hardware, and software.  After submitting RFP's on Al-Anon's behalf, JCA helped them select a new system  that works best for them, implement a data conversion, as well as install new hardware and software on their new network.

The organization had been using custom software that was created almost 20 years ago on an MAI BASIC4 minicomputer. Their hardware was unreliable and their software was lacking in flexibility. JCA stepped in to make their database system up-to-date and more reliable.

JCA performed a systems study, sent Request For Proposals to software vendors, and served on their decision committee to choose the software. We assisted in the conversion of the database to a custom designed application written in Delphi. Once Al-Anon moved to Virginia, JCA continued to work with them. We supervised the on-site installation of the network and respective hardware and software.
