Matthew Cooper

Director, Consulting Services

Matthew Cooper is an experienced JCA professional, leading complex projects for Science Museum of Minnesota, Cleveland Metroparks Zoo, Natural History Museum of Los Angeles, Woodruff Arts Center in Atlanta, GA; Stratford Shakespeare Festival, New York City Ballet, and many more organizations. These projects have included needs analysis, policy and procedure reviews, software implementation, and other engagements.

Before joining JCA, he served as the Director of Ticketing Services for the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts in Philadelphia, PA.  He played an integral role in the creation of Ticket Philadelphia, a joint venture of the Kimmel Center and the Philadelphia Orchestra. As the founding Director of Ticket Philadelphia, Matt created and implemented the initial business plan and budgets, and successfully integrated former Philadelphia Orchestra and Kimmel Center staff into a cohesive team. The creation of Ticket Philadelphia coincided with the opening of the Kimmel Center in December 2001. Matt successfully guided Ticket Philadelphia though the opening months, which featured hundreds of performances in three major venues. He managed a staff of 65 in the Subscriber Services, Call Center and Box Office areas while overseeing a $3 million annual operating budget. Prior to his work at the Kimmel Center, Matt was the Ticket Operations Manager for Carnegie Hall.

Matt is a member of the International Ticketing Association (INTIX) and is a graduate of the inaugural INTIX Intensive certificate program.  A recognized expert in his field, Matt is a frequent speaker at industry conferences on best practices in ticketing and philanthropy technology.  Matt holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History with a minor in Music (vocal performance) from Washington University.  He continues to sing professionally with the Philadelphia Singers
