Operations System and Billing Specialist
Ben Stevens is a valued member of the JCA operations team. He provides critical operational internal support through generating invoices, collecting payments, payroll, generating commissions, creating contracts, and resolving AutoTask issues.
Before joining JCA, Ben was an office administrator for a small security company in London. His responsibilities included generating invoices, collecting payments, sending out contracts, and managing payables.
Ben holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Studies from London Metropolitan University.

Where do you work?
I currently work in Coimbra, Portugal.
Where are you from?
I’m originally from London, England, where I lived for the first 29 years of my life. I then moved to Newark, New Jersey so that I could marry my wife. We’d ‘met’ on an online book group in around 2005 and then we met in person during a vacation to New York in 2007. We then spent 2007-2009 travelling back and forth between London and Newark before I completed the immigration process and finally moved to the US in February 2009. We got married, had a daughter in 2012 and I became a US citizen in 2015. In 2016 we moved to Edinburgh, Scotland, where we lived for 5 years until 2021 when we moved to Portugal. And in just June 2022 we moved to a lovely apartment in Coimbra.
What do you do at JCA?
My title is Operations Systems and Billing Specialist. I take care of billing, accounts receivable, payroll, commissions, creating contracts and solving AutoTask issues.
What is your background? What brought you to JCA?
I’d say luck brought me to JCA. Once I was married and was finally allowed to work by the US government, it was time to find a job. I believe I applied to a vacancy on Craigslist which brought me to JCA’s offices.
What do you do outside of JCA?
I absolutely love movies and have maintained a review blog for over a decade now. I’m also a massive Liverpool FC fan and have a secret fondness for professional wrestling. I’m also trying to learn Portuguese (with mixed success) and have recently adopted a three month old kitten to befriend/torment my thirteen-year-old cat.
