She also serves on the board for Wanderlust: Theater on Location, a company that stages immersive, site specific musical theater. Originally from California, Naomi has spent time in several different states before settling with her husband in Ohio, where they have started a mini farm.

MORE ABOUT NAOMI

Where do you work? Where are you from?

I work in Bolivar, OH on a little farm my husband and I moved to this year. I’m originally from San Jose, California, but have also lived in Southern California, Florida, and Virginia/DC.

What do you do at JCA?

I am a Marketing Strategy Consultant and I’ll be helping our clients develop and implement marketing and campaign plans. I will also be collaborating directly with arts marketing teams in their departments as Interim Staff support.

What is your background? What brought you to JCA?

As many of us arts folk, I started out at a young age on the performance side. Then at the end of my undergraduate years, I transitioned over to Theater Management and pursued my MFA. I loved the idea of creating opportunities for the art from an administrative side and finding strategies to foster growth in those communities. After graduating, I worked at Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company and most recently worked at Brokaw, a creative marketing agency. I worked with Jamie and Jennifer, also on the JCA Arts Marketing team, when they did Interim Marketing support during my time at Woolly. I’ve been on the look out for openings at JCA since then.

What do you do outside of JCA?

Most of my friends and family live all over the country, so I enjoy hours long FaceTime to catch up with them. I also love trying new food spots and recipes (really anything food related!). I have recently started going to the Monday Mystery Movies through Regal and that has been a blast! If I’m not at the movies, I’m usually cross stitching a new project while binge watching a show. It’s been a goal of mine to get outside a bit more, so now that my husband and I have a mini farm, I spend a nice chunk of time hanging out with the animals, honing my electric fence moving skills, and picking berries while my Great Dane runs through the field.
