Nuçi’s Space does lifesaving work—providing mental health support, youth programs, and musician resources in Athens, GA. But to maximize their impact, they needed a CRM that could keep up. When their initial Salesforce implementation hit roadblocks, they faced a tough question: Fix the system or find a new one?

The Challenge: Pinpointing Issues and Gaining Meaningful Analytics
Nuçi’s Space began its Salesforce journey in 2022 with an underlying goal: a unified system capable of tracking diverse constituent data—from donations to health and wellness records—across all business functions.
To do this, they implemented the Salesforce Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP) with custom development to meet their specific needs. But after a series of project setbacks, they realized it was time to rethink their approach.
“We realized we needed to step back and strategically reassess our Salesforce ecosystem, focusing on purposeful changes that would truly serve our needs,” said Corey Jones, Business and Operations Manager at Nuçi’s Space.
Nuçi’s Space struggled to glean meaningful analytics from Salesforce and its related systems. To pinpoint the issues and find solutions, they decided to undergo an NPSP Assessment. They selected JCA to perform the NPSP Assessment and recommend realistic, actionable next steps.
Like many nonprofits, Nuçi’s Space was mindful they couldn’t take on too much at once. They needed to identify incremental changes with maximum positive impact, whether that meant performing focused data cleansing or evaluating existing business processes. Ultimately, they needed to decide whether Salesforce was still the right tool for them.
The Solution: A Comprehensive NPSP Assessment
The assessment began with focused discussion including multiple stakeholder groups. The discussions focused on describing the current processes, finding pain points, and identifying gaps and shortcomings within their current ecosystem.
Additionally, JCA performed a review of the Salesforce system, including detailed data analysis using the Codes Frequency Report (CFR), a JCA tool which audits coded fields to highlight consolidation or cleanup opportunities.
“JCA’s CFR tool was incredibly eye-opening,” said Alex Dillon, Senior Programs Manager at Nuçi’s Space. “It helped us see exactly where our data was strong and where we were missing opportunities. For example, we learned we weren’t fully utilizing Campaigns in Salesforce to help us track how constituents were interacting with our various initiatives.”
The analysis did not stop at NPSP. Nuçi’s Space uses at least 14 other applications to round out their needs, including a booking system for reservations, QuickBooks for financial tracking, and a customized tool for case management. It became clear that they needed a resource solely dedicated to administering their database. JCA helped Nuçi’s Space think through the scope and tasks of this important role, acknowledging cost as a limiting factor.
The Impact: Strategic Clarity and a Unified Vision
The assessment confirmed that Salesforce remained the best platform for Nuçi’s Space, as it provides the tools and applications required to meet their varied needs. Transitioning to new tools would strain resources, whereas optimizing Salesforce aligned with their goal: a holistic view of every supporter—donors, clients, musicians, and camp attendees—in one system.
The assessment enabled Nuçi’s Space to identify where to allocate their limited resources for maximum impact, ensuring they fully realized the value of their new CRM investment. The result was a clear, strategic path forward—aligned with their organization’s scale and capacity—positioning them for sustainable growth.

Optimizing for Impact
The path to an effective CRM isn’t always linear. Nuçi’s Space’s journey proves that sometimes, the best solution isn’t starting over—but stepping back, reassessing, and refining the tools you already have.
