As we head into the holiday break, we wanted to share an exciting finding that should help you kick back and relax by the fire….

Revenue from ticket sales increased 20% in Fall 2023 compared to Fall 2022!

Yes, you read right. For the first part of the 2023–24 season, revenue is on the rise compared to last season. We collected this data from 14 performing arts organizations of all types from around the country, comparing July–November 2023 to July–November 2022.

Some other fun stats:

  • Tickets sold — on average — per performance increased 11%
  • Prices increased by 11% on average
  • Average yield (revenue/ticket sales) increased by 14%

Considering that at the end of 2022–23 revenue was still down 19% relative to pre-pandemic, this is great news. The work you’ve done to recover audiences and revenue is really starting to pay off.
