Reflecting on 2022: The Year of Personal Connections

December 13, 2022

At the beginning of the year, JCA CEO Steve Jacobson wrote a blog about how 2022 would be the year of (re)investment. At JCA, we took our own advice and doubled down on investing time and energy into our most critical asset: our people.

  • Company Retreat – In April, JCA held its first in-person company gathering since the start of the pandemic. It was an opportunity to discuss the state of the company, industry trends, and how JCA can be a more effective partner for our nonprofit clients. This year had a particular focus on team building and celebrating our successes—and we accomplished our goal!

  • Staff Milestones – 2022 saw many staff milestones for our company. Our colleagues Jamie Alexander, Liz Murray, and Jennifer Sowinski Nemeth celebrated five years with JCA. In December, our COO, James Minehart, marked 15 years with the Company and our Finance Administrator, Judy Ruiz, celebrated 25 years. We are incredibly grateful for our stellar staff at JCA and that they’ve chosen to make JCA their work home over the years.

  • Connecting with Colleagues – This year also marked our return to in-person travel, and we took the opportunity to reconnect with our colleagues and clients at several events. From conferences like AFP ICON, AMMC, TLCC, and AASP Summit, we were able to learn professionally, share some of our expertise, and convene with our networks.

  • Visiting Clients – Our consultants visited several clients on-site to conduct project work. Trips included on-site visits to clients in Atlanta, Saint Louis, Houston, Chicago, Orlando, and even Sydney, Australia! Though JCA continues to offer remote project work and support, it’s always a pleasure to see our clients in action and engage with them in-person.

As we wrap up 2022, we’re incredibly grateful for our staff, clients, and colleagues that made this year such a success. We look forward to our continued partnership in the new year.

Happy Holidays!
