MORE ABOUT SHANNON

Where do you work? Where are you from?

I live and work in Lakeland, FL, a growing city between Tampa and Orlando. I grew up in the Orlando area and moved out of the state after graduating from the University of Florida in 2004 with a BS in Public Relations. I’ve lived in several states since then, including Texas, Washington, California, Virginia, and Maryland, and ended up back in Florida in 2018.

What do you do at JCA?

I am a consultant in the Professional Services division of JCA, bringing experience both as a nonprofit leader and a consultant. I know the struggles of nonprofits in competing priorities to achieve an organizational mission, and I believe in the importance of aligning the mission to process and technology for impactful organizational results.

What is your background? What brought you to JCA?

I have worked in nonprofits since 2006 in a variety of roles, and I love the idea of big picture thinking, strategizing and supporting nonprofits using my experience. I have both led and supported technology integrations and change management strategies, as well led a small nonprofit.

What do you do outside of JCA?

Outside of JCA, I love to enjoy the outdoors and soak up the Florida sun. I have three kids that keep my life quite active, and I also teach yoga at a local studio as a certified instructor (RYT-200). I have a long history and love of running, and am a certified RRCA running coach. When I have down time, I love to curl up with a good book.
